Pearson (he/they) reviewed Reservoir dogs by Quentin Tarantino
Review of 'Reservoir dogs' on 'Goodreads'
5 stars
"Reservoir Dogs," Quentin Tarantino's tried-and-true debut film, is riddled with explicit language and a hyper-violent content. Yet, the thing that creates a unique atmosphere in this obscene crime thriller is the writer-director's uncanny knack for writing intelligent dialogue. It is a peculiar thing, hearing diamond-robbers talking about actress Pam Grier on the way to steal millions' in diamonds. Stranger still, reading the way in which a psychopath psychologically demeans a victim can cause shivers to run the length of a spine. However, Tarantino makes his characters so believable and charming, which creates a dichotomy of disgust and affection. These convoluted feelings craft an engaging atmosphere that keeps the reader engrossed from cover-to-cover.
