City is a 1952 science fiction fix-up novel by American writer Clifford D. Simak. The original version consists of eight linked short stories, all originally published in Astounding Science Fiction under the editorship of John W. Campbell between 1944 and 1951, along with brief "notes" on each of the stories. These notes were specially written for the book, and serve as a bridging story of their own. The book was reprinted as ACE #D-283 in 1958, cover illustration by Ed Valigursky. Simak published a ninth City tale in 1973 called "Epilog". A 1980 edition of City includes this ninth tale; some (but not all) subsequent editions of the book also include "Epilog".

Jedna z knizek, ke kterym tezko neco dodat. Ses mravenec a zjistis, ze lidi kolem tebe resi blbosti a pak nejsou? Nebo ses clovek a zjistis, ze mravenci na tebe prdi? Totalne nadcasovy, musim nekdy zopaknout potreti :)

Hard to add anything one might ever not heard before, worth totally reading it. Gentle, intimate, several points in time retrospectively looking at certain planet history. Should it be human history, one might wonder how we could last that long ... well ... and why certain species took over ... well
