Well, this book was kinda all over the place. I was trying to explain it to my husband after I read it, and that's when I realized how the plot twists and turns a bit too much. It's like the author threw everything at an apocalypse story and wanted to see what stuck! That said, I did enjoy the book. What we have here is an apocalypse/end of the world story, and the people who are left behind. Not too much sci-fi, and a believable premise. I like sci-fi, but not when it gets too convoluted. The main characters are mostly likeable and dynamic. The plot is inspiring, but sometimes repetitive. The author jumps from character to character a lot also, it can be a bit confusing. AG Riddle writes very well, but the ending was rushed. I got whiplash from the last few chapters! "Time" became a kind of deus ex machina, if you will. I was torn between 3-4 , because I really liked the ending, but again, that super rushed feeling in the last quarter of the book was just disappointing. Riddle could have done a lot more and made the story a 5. One thing I will add is that I felt SURE I had it all figured out fairly early on, and I was so wrong!
Anyway, this becomes a 3.5* for me, ha ha. Take it for what you will!
