SchwarzRund: Biskaya (2016, zaglossus) 4 stars

A pleasant read

4 stars

A novel by the inspiring author SchwarzRund - it's a black queer novel about a Berlin singer songwriter with roots in Biskaya, maneuvering her queer 3-parent family history and her own emancipation as a Black woman. Really heart wrenching in the end and there's a lot of lyrics from the characters songs in the book.

Alison Bechdel: The essential Dykes To Watch Out For (2008, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt) 4 stars

From the author of Fun Home—the lives, loves, and politics of cult fav characters Mo, …

It's okay

3 stars

It's a nice and entertaining comic book with the majority of published Dykes To Watch Out For comics. If you like seeing the life of some liberal lesbians with all their ups and downs, it's for you. I really did not like the casual biphobia and transphobia at some places in the comic, and in the end it kinda bored me seeing them living their nuclear family life and only ranting about politicians. My favorite character: Lois. She's really cool.

bell hooks: Feminist theory from margin to center (1984, South End Press) 5 stars

Lots of interesting viewpoints

5 stars

A detailed runthrough of decentering feminist discourse from white middleclass cishet women in the feminist movement. I'd say it's a good starter for anyone slowling diving into feminist theory. bell hooks writes very understandable, it's pleasent to read and there's a lot of inspiration on how to change a feminist movement.
