Brutal, dirty, and entertaining as hell. A fine gritty dark fantasy.

This was an interesting change of pace from Maberry. Overall a good story which slogged a bit in the first third. The premise is sound, if a bit uninspired. The main character and his partner in crime are likable enough for a grimdark tale. The author telegraphed the big reveal a bit too much and thereby negated much of its gravity and impact.

Chris M reviewed Cold As Hell by Jaime Castle
Review of 'Cold As Hell' on 'Goodreads'
4 stars
This was a good start to a new series which is a supernatural western with paranormal aspects similar to Sandman Slim and Harry Dresden. The writing is good, and the audiobook narration is well voiced. The story only lacked in depth of characters. Hopefully future volumes will be deeper in this aspect.
