I listened to these three books right in a row, so once I got to this part, I definitely missed these characters at the end. Great ending, still a great motley rebel crew, and the battle at Jakku... hope there will be a revisit to these people at some point in another book!

Disney oversold this series as a bridge between Return of the Jedi and Force Awakens, but that's not Wendig's fault. We get a good look at the Battle of Jakku, and more hints as to how the New Order gets it start, but they were never going to let Wendig show us who Snoke is, which seems to be what a lot of people wanted.

This series does present a decent rationale for why the Empire disintegrated following the Battle of Endor. We also get a great story about some great characters that are new to the series, and this is a decent ending to that story.
