This is a book that takes place I think it's about 15 years after the end of Deep Space Nine, where Cardassia is still rebuilding, but hopeful signs are abound and democracy has taken hold. There are still problems and worries, many of which are directly taken from today's world just placed in a science fiction realm. Very interesting and well done. But more importantly, it has a lot of Garak (as leader of the Cardassian empire, no less!) and a lot of Dr Pulaski (a character I have long wished for a return in something, somewhere) - and they get along just splendidly! :)
