Review of 'Beneath the Sugar Sky' on 'Goodreads'
Compared to the first two books in the series, this one feels like a regular adventure book. We don't get to see the development of any character not nearly as thoroughly as in the second book. It doesn't feel like we learn as much new things about the world as the first book. The characters are still diverse, and are treated in ways I'd like diverse characters to be treated, but other than that, this felt much more like a regular action adventure.
