The duke of Kingston requires a wife of fortune to save his dukedom. Miss Adeline Black dreams of owning her own dress shop, where she can design gowns with pockets, among other scandalous designs. She runs into the duke quite literally, and finds herself smitten, and then pulled between her desire for him, and her desire for her dream. The duke likewise finds himself pulled between honoring his dukedom through a marriage of necessity, or honoring his heart through a marriage of love.
I enjoyed Miss Black's agency, as well as the solid story and character building. A great read.
