Most delightful read! Neil Gaiman is one of my favorite authors. He writes with a classic smooth elegance. His prose is almost poetic, sometimes even lacking the 'almost'.
Neverwhere was a little gem, and I never expected to return to that world.... until I found out that he has written this short story.
And short it is. Very short. Way too short. But despite being a tiny morsel of a story, it has a tidy plot, a clear beginnin, middle and end. The quest-trope is well done and was fun to read.
The BBC dramatisation is wonderful. The voice acting is excellent as always, it was fun to recognize some voices :-) Just as with the dramatisation of Stardust, the full cast rendition really adds something extra to the story.
Why not five stars? It is a little bit too whimsical. I try to reserve …
