Gasp!

This was definitely a real Paige turner. Great twists, turns, and what a killer ending! I read it on a whim wondering what kind of writer Marcia Clark is, and I've gotta say I like what I read. Her style is easy, straightforward, and approachable. I'm excited to read the next in the Samantha Brinkman series.

This was closer to a 2.5 stars for me. I found the writing to be fine, but somewhat simplistic. Clark doesn't seem to love adjectives or doing much to set the scene for the reader. She seems to prefer to just jump into dialogue, which I would have thought I would like, but here it just felt...unfinished, or un-nuanced.

Also, I might have missed an important piece in the discovery of the murder, because I still don't understand how the guy who did it ended up in the stranger's house (trying to avoid spoilers and needing to put up a spoiler tag).
