By now we all know the essentialist case for capitalism-cannibalism: we must fight each other because it is something that is deeply embeded in our DNA. Kropotkin thinks differently, and he makes the opposite case (that we are, in fact, cooperative creatures) with a lengthy list of evidence. While the book can be quite boring, it's an important one - even in our day and time.
