A really great tale of survival in an unforgiving landscape. The writing style is reminiscent of Michael Crichton and the adherence to realism is admirable!

Very well researched! It came out before the sexual harassment allegations came to light but Ailes actions and comments in the book definitely hint at it. America is still feeling the negative repercussions of his actions and will continue to do so for years to come. I'm extremely glad this horrible man is rotting in his grave.

Pretty decent short story collection. I mostly picked it up for the main story in the book ("If It Bleeds") because I'm trying to catch up on the adventures and character development of Holly in anticipation of the new book this year.

As expected the story I enjoyed the most was "If It Bleeds" because I adore the character of Holly Gibney and this was a solid monster of the week esc story. "Mr. Harrigan's Phone" and "Rat" were pretty solid and made me feel like I was watching episodes of the classic Twilight Zone tv show. "The Life of Chuck" is interesting because I didn't particularly enjoy the first part of the story but the upbeat second part and fun final story really gripped me. Overall a good read!

Interesting but kinda annoying that it's constantly going "This is true" and "We have multiple accounts so it's basically fact". The priest's story is completely irrelevant and uninteresting, so much time is spent on him going "Oh no I have a cold maybe I should call the family". He barely does anything to impact the story of the family and I find it hilarious that he receives so much more bodily harm than any of the family members for just talking to them on the phone.

A truly excellent mystery/thriller! Some people may not like the new King but books like this show he's still as creative as ever!
