banks is always excellent. I think I might have read this before, but it was certainly entertaining to go through it (again?)

a few short stories to get started before the main narrative. some of this is a little dated, but more in the sense that you can sense when he wrote it than it being out-of-date.

i put down another book that i'd been getting more and more bored with reading - and this one is just so much more engaging!

the language is wonderfully evocative, the plots are intricate and fun, and there's just a joyful creativity and intelligence in this book so far.

really enjoying it!

fun and engaging at times, at other times it drags you into plots with s plethora of characters that seen to be named strangely just for the fun of it.

I enjoyed it, but it's probably not for everybody
