This is actually my favorite book. As close to the ideal of books as you can get i think. Its a series of short stories set in the same region over thousands of years. The writing is wonderfully mythic, but also written as if the narrator was in the same room as you. I'm sure Le Guin infused the translation with a little bit of her own magic, but also other books I've read by the same author have been equally incredible.
